Oromar was established in 1999 and is located in the fishing hub of Europe: Urk (NL). The name of the company means gold from the sea. The company specialises in the processing, freezing and distribution of the North Sea delicacy: lobster. Oromar is also one of the largest exporters of sea bass and bream. And because Oromar is situated in the fishing hub of Europe, it is also able to offer a wide range of North Sea fish products such as: sole, fillet of plaice, brill, turbot, red gurnard, squid and ensis (razor clams). Oromar also has an organisation that provides our clients in the Netherlands and Belgium with fresh produce every day.

Scampi

Oromar has been a true pioneer in the processing of Scampi, Norway Lobster, since 1990. We supply Fresh and Frozen scampi in Europe and beyond. Oromar uses only the best quality and buys largely from the same boats. Therefore, we know exactly where and how the scampi is caught and what the quality of the scampi is. Oromar manages the entire production process in its own factory. That guarantees processing of the highest quality!

Wholesale and retail

Oromar and scampi are inextricably linked. Oromar was one of the first companies in the Netherlands to start processing scampi on a large scale in 1999. Oromar has become an important supplier to wholesale and retail ever since.

INNOVATION

Oromar has been innovative in its approach since its inception. Hence the idea to start processing lobsters. Because lobsters were not widely known when we were established (1999).

Oromar complies with prevailing food safety standards and is ISO 22000 certified. Oromar’s ISO 22000 certificate was guaranteed and issued by Intertek Moody Int. In addition, Oromar’s quality assurance system is monitored by Kwaliteitsdienst Urk. Meanwhile, we have taken further steps towards IFS Food certification.

SPECIALISTS IN SEA BASS & BREAM

Oromar has been importing Sea Bass and Sea Bream from Greece and Turkey for many years. We receive several fresh deliveries every week. We sell fresh sea bass and bream in the Netherlands and Belgium. We freeze sea bass and bream for the frozen market. These deep frozen products are primarily exported.
