Omschrijving:
The fish is found in the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea above the continental shelf. Mackerels are fast predatory fish. They mainly eat plankton. Mackerels swim in large schools in the superficial water layers in the summer months, hunting for crayfish, fish larvae and more. Especially after the spawning season. They also hunt for small herring, sprat and sand eel. In addition, they come close to the coast in the summer.
