Omschrijving:
Il branzino (Dicentrarchus labrax) è un pesce a pinne raggiate della famiglia dei Moronidi e appartiene all'ordine dei perciformi (Perciformes). Un branzino adulto è in media lungo 50 cm, ma può raggiungere una lunghezza di 103 cm ed un peso di 12 kg. Si può trovare sia in acqua dolce che salata e i pesci giovani spesso entrano negli estuari del fiume dove può essere osservato nelle acque salmastre. Il branzino è grigio o blu sul retro e argento sui fianchi, il ventre è giallastro o bianco. Il sapore è leggermente dolce e delicato con una struttura fine.
